Big Hay Alice arrived safely to Belmont Park on March 6th. She began her training under trainer Gary Contessa with a light workout on 3/7, video below (BHA is on the outside). She is pointed to a late April/early May debut at Aqueduct.

She My Trap Queen, who suffered a slight hamstring injury in her debut race on October 3rd, will continue her rest and recovery at a training facility in upstate New York. Trainer Gary Contessa noticed SMTQ was favoring one of her hamstrings after the race, and decided to give her a week off. After about 10 days, her stride didn’t improve and she look comfortable while striding. Gary decided an extended layup was in her best interest. Gary sent SMTQ to In Front Training Center, located in Ghent, NY in late October. SMTQ will enjoy some time away from the track as she recovers, and will likely be sent back to the track before Christmas. Get well...

She My Trap Queen Makes Debut at Belmont

She My Trap Queen ran her first race at Belmont Park on Sunday, breaking from the gate well before tiring around the turn and finishing in 8th. She My Trap Queen was mostly well behaved in the paddock and before the race, but seemed a little anxious once on the track. We spoke briefly with jockey Israel Rodriguez after the race who said, “She seemed a little tired. Just tired.” Although the 8th place finish was a little disappointing, we went into the race knowing she would need a couple of races before feeling completely comfortable on the track. Blue Duck Racing is looking forward to her continued development and better results in the future. SMTQ earned $306 for Sundays 8th place finish. Risky Kitten Filly Begins Breaking/Training

After taking a 3 week break following the OBS August Yearling Sale, our Risky Kitten yearling has begun training in Ocala with BDRS Trainer Gayle Woods. Gayle reports that the filly enjoyed her time off, and is very relaxed and taking in her training well. Blue Duck Racing is planning on either raising the filly to race on the NY Circuit next year, or possibly to sell at a Spring 2016 2 Year Old in Training Sale.
